Şemsiruhsar Hatun〔There were forty wives and concubines (of non-haseki rank) of Sultan Murad III, of which there was Şemsiruhsar Hatun, the mother of Princess Rukiye〕〔40'ı aşkın hasekisi olan III. Murad'ın kadınlarının adlarını ve sayılarını tespit etmek pek zor. Bu, babasında da aynı şekildedir. ==Biography==
During the Sultanate of Women the wives were completely deprived of status and power, however, than a royal concubine of Haseki rank. She enjoyed the prerogatives of a member of the royal family may be because of her higher status. Şemsiruhsar Hatun gave birth to a daughter named, Rukiye Sultan. She is known to have created an endowment for the recitation of the Holy Qur'an in the mosque of the Prophet in Medina.〔
After Murad's death in 1595, his entourage were sent to the Old Palace, but Şemsiruhsar Hatun along with Safiye Sultan stayed in the imperial palace, because of her no interest in the state affairs. She died in 1613.
